Since opening our first hotel, Minos Beach Art Hotel, our guiding mission has been to coexist harmoniously with the natural landscape and reduce our environmental footprint through sustainable development. This commitment is central to our brand’s enduring success and has shaped a philosophy that our guests experience every day and which we are proud to advocate across the Greek hospitality community.

Innovation

The only way forward is to embrace change and adopt innovative practices across all our operations. We leverage cutting-edge technologies to reduce our energy footprint—such as smart rooms, solar panels, and natural ventilation. We partner with like-minded brands and collaborate with startups offering unique ideas. Advanced software helps us measure and monitor progress daily toward our sustainability goals.

Conscious Consumption

At Bluegr, environmental protection is a top priority. We actively reduce our energy footprint through LED lighting, solar panels, and efficient water management systems, alongside continuous staff training. Our waste management aligns with circular economy principles, focusing on reusable materials and eliminating plastic. Since 2023, we no longer offer plastic to guests and encourage them to join our efforts. We monitor recycling monthly in collaboration with local community partners, and plan to install composters in all hotels.

Through our partnership with Tentamus Group, we regularly assess our environmental impact, and with Diversey Inc., we use eco-friendly cleaning products. Our environmental management is ISO 14001:2015 certified, and we preserve local flora to support sustainability.

Locality

We are deeply committed to creating regional opportunities and giving back to the community of Crete. As such, we prioritize recruiting from the local workforce and invest in the wellbeing of local businesses.

To further our commitment, we source top-quality seasonal products from the region, offering our guests an authentic connection to the area by sharing our customs, traditions, and philosophy.
